So July has been a good month.

I have started a new job and I love it. I am learning a ton and the people are nice and they are paying me more then my old job.

More importantly, I am engaged!! Scary isn't it?

I am floating on cloud nine. I am sure that will change once we start planning the wedding but I'll worry about that later.

I had a worry about this site last night. I hadn't checked in for a while, and the site was down. Luckily today it is up again.

My summer was some good some bad. I had knee surgery (meniscus) but am recovering well. One of my three cats died suddenly. He was only 10, but I am almost reconciled now to it's having been his time to go.

On the positive side, we enjoyed a vacation in Fredericksburg, VA. Toured museums and shops and battlegrounds. It was pretty astonishing that the soldiers would stand and advance in a line and step over their fallen comrades to keep going.

WOOHOOOO!! I never thought I would see the day that the US would elect an African-American President of the United States.

I know that some here would have prefered Senator McCain but damn am I happy.

I am deeply proud of us for this election. I'm sure you know I disagree with his policies, but it is stirring to know he'll be president.

What a election!

I have mixed feelings. It is awesome we elected someone of color and I do think he will do a good job. Now that he is elected I really do hope he does a good job. But the mixed part is I think he is less experienced that I would have liked. He talks pretty and I do think that will be a huge advantage in world view for our country. And we sorely need that after the last eight years.

And since I vote on the social issues, there really was no choice but to vote for Obama.

Truly a historic election!
